The Right, environmental quality
The environmental good. Alongside public health, climate change is Maison Le Breton's second strategic challenge. The house's environmental policy is clear: wine is considered primarily a cultural rather than an agricultural product; the link it has maintained for millennia with society attests to this. If it was sometimes used for food virtues, it is no longer debated today that the alcohol it contains makes it a product apart from agriculture that nourishes. The objective of Maison Le Breton is therefore just as clear: to have a positive impact on climate issues and to promote the development of biodiversity. Two concrete axes that demonstrate the importance that Maison Le Breton attaches to the environment, treated and considered as a stakeholder who must benefit from the sharing of the economic value of their activity as a wine producer and merchant.
Optimize our impact on the soil
- 181 kg/Ha: this is our humic balance per plot. This positive balance attests to soil aggradation practices, that is to say that we enrich the soil with carbon and improve its natural fertility.
- 59.40% of the vineyard is grassed, this figure includes grassing in full (everywhere), on the inter-rows (between the rows of vines), on the rows (at the foot of the vines), and 1 inter-row out of 2. Maison Le Breton wants to completely grass the vineyard, to stop plowing
- 88% of the total area of the farm is covered annually

Optimize the toxicity of our inputs
- Our IFTh (Herbicidal Treatment Frequency Index) is equal to 0.03: it reflects our desire to stop chemical treatments in favor of mechanical weeding
- 69: this is our VitiPact score, which gives us the silver level. Calculated from our treatment program, this score references the toxicity of our inputs for humans and the environment.
Encourage a dynamic of reduction, reuse and recycling of our products
- 79.61% of the raw materials of our dry materials are recycled
- 99.72% of our dry materials are recyclable
Know our biodiversity to better encourage its development
- 94.60% of the UAA (Useful Agricultural Area) is allocated to IAE (AgroEcological Infrastructure), in particular thanks to the actions of the Agroforestry Committee which plans hedge planting, the creation of green corridors, and the planting of trees isolated
- Although the vine is useful to biodiversity in a certain way, we evaluate the share of the total exploitation useful to biodiversity
